The Design

The designs for the school were produced by a team of architects in the UK and Kenya, including support from Buro Happold Engineers. Particular focus was given to creating a unique living and learning environment for deaf teenagers in Kenya.

Our latest design is under construction - the Dining Hall.
This will not just be a dining and indoor sports hall, but will be the community hub that the local community can also use for local functions, to promote integration.

Special features:
Round tables for clear sight of sign-language;  huge skylights for diffused, strong lighting; main walls open completely for a variety of functions and spaces; store rooms to completely pack away all furniture for sports or specific  functions
