The sand we use for building St Mary Magdalene's School for the Deaf is locally sourced and delivered by the truck-load in tonnes.
We use the sand, mixed with cement and water by hand our wonderful team, to make mortar for the foundations of walls and for between the breathable lime bricks that make up our new classroom block.
When you purchase 10 tonne of building sand a thankyou card is dispatched to the delivery address.
Please ensure that you enter the delivery address of the gift-receiver when ordering. And enter a message for the card into 'Note to Seller' on the order form.
Please note that you will not receive 1 tonne of building sand as this is not a sales purchase but a donation of a suggested amount.
The donation amount suggested would cover the price of 1 tonne of building sand to be used to build the school on site in Riandu, Kenya, but will not necessarily be used for this specific item- although will be used for building materials for the school as needed.
The thankyou card will arrive within 5 working days for UK donations and around 10 working days for donations made from Kenya. Any other non-UK addresses may take longer, but we will do our best to get them to gift-receivers by Christmas.
